May Bank Holiday Weekend Friday 3rd May to Monday 6th May.
Enjoy a fabulous 3 days walking experience from Tralee to Dingle. Walk in the footsteps of the Kerry people through the ages. From the time of Saint Brendan, The Navigator, when monks and pilgrims walked to Dingle to travel on to the Camino in Spain, and elsewhere. Meet other travellers en route. Enjoy spectacular views and scenery of mountains and beaches, and the famous hospitality of the locals.
Arrive in Tralee Friday 3rd May
Friday : Registration in The Grand Hotel Tralee. (20 euros per person)
Information lecture about the walk followed by Irish music session in the bar.
Saturday: Walk from Tralee to Camp
9.30am start at St. Johns Church – walking 5/6 hours(toughest section today- need shoes/boots with a good grip)
Options to stay overnight in Camp or return to Tralee.
Sunday: Walk from Camp to Annascaul ( Stopping off in Inch for lunch)
10am at Mick Neill’s pub in Camp – walking 5/6 hours
Break available at Inch beach – Sammy’s on the beach
Options to stay overnight in Annascaul or return to Tralee.
Monday: Walk from Annascaul To Dingle
10 am at South Pole Inn – walking 5/6 hours
Finish in St James church in Dingle and receive your Certificate of Completion.
Transport is available back to Tralee each evening at a reasonable rate
(approx 5 euros Camp, 8 Euros Annascaul, 12 euros Dingle)
Everyone should have their own day pack with a rain coat, a drink, snacks, and money and any first aid required. A hat and hopefully sun cream if the weather is sunny
