The Grand Hotel Tralee are delighted to launch our annual charity walk/run/cycle Sunday 27th February.

Our inaugural event was last year, when the staff and management of the hotel were so moved by the plight of the people of Haiti trying to rebuild lives, after the devastating earthquake.

It was so successful that we vowed to make it a national event.

This year we are supporting a local charity, Recovery Haven, here in Tralee.

The Recovery Haven is located adjacent to Tralee General Hospital, at 5 Haig’s Terrace, Tralee.

It is primarily a focus for the support of visitors, who have finished their hospital cancer treatment and need help putting their lives back together again.

They offer therapies, couselling and support within a tranquil, safe and relaxing envirironment, all delivered to the highest possible standard, vetted and approved of by appropriate agencies.

All services are free to visitors, and they have the patronage of Mr. Dick Spring.

Registration for the walk is at 10am and we start at 10.30 am.

The route heads off towards the Ashe Memorial Hall, down Princes St and out the canal to Blennerville. Turn left at the bridge into the village and then turn up towards Ballyard , opposite the petrol station. Continue on and take a left back into town past Tralee Rugby Club, and back to the Grand for tea and coffee.

A bit of excercise, a bit of crack, and help a good cause! It’s a win – win for everyone involved.
